Tests to be done for screen printing ink

Due to the wide range of screen printing applications, the requirements for screen printing inks are also strict. Therefore, in order to meet the different requirements of the printing products for the ink, the screen printing inks should be tested in the following aspects.

1 Adhesion The test determines the degree of adhesion of the ink to different materials.

2 Flexibility The adhesion between the ink and the substrate material is checked by the flexural test.

3 Resistance to stagnation The suffocating resistance is mainly to conduct strong test on the printing surface of materials such as cloth, paper and film to test the adhesion and firmness of the ink to the printing material.

4 Abrasion resistance After the cotton printing surface is exposed to sunlight, the cotton cloth is rubbed a certain number of times to check the degree of contamination of the cotton cloth.

5 Weather resistance Weather resistance also contains light resistance. Weather resistance is usually carried out by placing the printed matter outdoors, performing tests such as wind, sun, and rain to examine the discoloration of the printed matter pigment, the degree of fading, and the degree of discoloration and discoloration of the printing ink film.

6 Heat resistance, cold resistance Because some printed materials should be used at different temperatures. Therefore, some printed materials are processed by high temperature after printing, and some printed materials are subjected to low temperature processing after printing. The degree of change of the ink at different temperatures was examined by heat resistance and cold resistance tests.

7 Hot water resistance The hot water resistance test is usually carried out by adding a certain amount of warm water to the printing surface per unit area for a certain period of time to check the degree of contamination of water. In particular, the extent to which the pigment in the ink is dissolved in water is observed to determine whether the ink is suitable for printing on food containers and toys.

8 Oil resistance Oil resistance refers to the adaptability to oils and oils, mechanical oils, etc., which is different from solvent resistance.

Screen printing inks are usually tested from the above eight aspects.
